On behalf of our international client, a leading engineering organisation delivering large-scale water, wastewater, and biogas infrastructure projects, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Dublin, Ireland.
This role involves supporting projects from concept through to commissioning, combining engineering expertise, project coordination, and technical oversight to ensure facilities are designed, built, and operated safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the delivery of water, wastewater and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Assist in defining project scope, schedules, budgets and resources, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and regulators.
- Review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment specifications and support technology selection and vendor evaluation.
- Support construction activities through site inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards and industry best practice.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and support mitigation actions.
- Carry out quality checks on mechanical, civil, electrical and process installations and prepare commissioning and handover documentation.
- Assist with procurement activities, reviewing supplier quotations and supporting commercial evaluations.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities, including troubleshooting of process and mechanical issues.
- Prepare project reports, risk registers and technical documentation to support project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with Autodesk 2D & 3D CAD packages.
- Ability to develop conceptual arrangement drawings and detailed mechanical pipework/support designs.
- Experience following designs from initial outline to site installation and commissioning.
- Knowledge of legislative, safety, and design standards, including AD-specific regulations (ATEX, DSEAR).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
- Full driving licence.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project circumstances.
