Design Manager

On behalf of our international client, a leading engineering organisation delivering large-scale Water, Wastewater, and MEICA projects, we are seeking a Design Manager / PCI Project Manager to join their team in Ireland.

This role involves leading the design and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, managing teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead design and construction teams across MEICA scopes, collaborating with civil, building, and process engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to on-site.
  • Manage project performance, including risk and opportunity assessment, programme, budget, and HSQE compliance.
  • Lead procurement of supplies and subcontractors, managing cashflow and supporting commercial activities.
  • Develop project programmes, update baseline schedules, and report performance to framework managers.
  • Facilitate coordination with clients, stakeholders, PSDP, and external designers, representing the company as PSCS on live sites.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and development plans for project teams.
  • Support tendering for upcoming projects and contribute lessons learned for continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Water, Wastewater, or MEICA projects.
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemistry with extensive industry experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  • Experienced in MEICA engineering works including mechanical installation, control panels, electrical works, commissioning, and process proving.
  • Strong program management skills (Microsoft Project) and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full driving licence.
