On behalf of our international client, a leading engineering organisation delivering large-scale Water and Wastewater projects, we are seeking an Operations Engineer to join their team in Dublin, Ireland.
This role involves overseeing the operation of wastewater treatment plants, managing client relationships, ensuring compliance, and driving performance and process optimization.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the primary interface between the client and operations teams, ensuring compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and contract scope.
- Oversee daily operations of ETP/AD plants, monitoring plant performance, water quality, and consent parameters.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, ISO, and regulatory standards, coordinating audits and inspections.
- Monitor and control site budgets, O&M costs, billing, and invoice verification.
- Develop maintenance plans and ensure critical equipment availability and protection of client assets.
- Produce and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports, maintaining statutory logs and operational records.
- Identify and implement process improvements, energy and chemical savings, water recovery, and sludge reduction initiatives.
- Support commissioning, stabilization, and retrofitting of plant units under change orders.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial effluent/wastewater O&M.
- Strong knowledge of O&M contracts, wastewater treatment processes, and plant operations (ETP, AD).
- Excellent client-facing, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Budgeting, cost control, and P&L experience.
- Sound understanding of SHEQ, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in MS Excel, SCADA, ERP, and reporting dashboards.
