On behalf of our international client, a leading engineering organisation delivering large-scale Water, Wastewater, and Energy projects, we are seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team in Dublin, Ireland.
This role involves designing, programming, and delivering multi-disciplinary automation projects, supporting tendering, commissioning, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective project delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, program, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for Water, Wastewater, and Energy projects.
- Develop functional and design specifications from briefs and control philosophies.
- Build, test, and commission automated systems, including VSDs and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards are adhered to on-site.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and present solutions during project delivery.
- Develop project documentation and perform FAT/SAT as part of client sign-off.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to optimise project outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Automation Engineering, preferably in Water or Wastewater sectors.
- Degree or equivalent in Automation, Control & Instrumentation, or related field.
- Proficiency in programming platforms (Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Siemens).
- Experience with communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
- Experience designing and commissioning SCADA systems (Ignition, AVEVA, Iconics, Vijeo Citect).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritising multiple projects.
- Full driving licence.
